Custom Fabricated Accessories for Big Green Egg® & Kamado Joe®
WooDoggies, a ceramic enthusiast, wanted a quick way to raise the grid to the felt line in his Large Big Green Egg®. He contacted us after seeing a raised set-up we fabricated for the guys at Dizzy Pig Barbecue Company. For WooDoggies, we fabricated a two ring set-up that sets the grid at the felt line for cooking direct. He liked it, so we named it after him – the Woo Ring!
As inventors do, we kept tinkering with the Woo Ring. From our efforts came the Large Woo2, a piece that still goes direct at the felt line, but also provides an indirect cooking option. Well, we kept tinkering and now it's the Woo3 - all the benefits of the original Woo and Woo2, but the Woo3 also holds a wok. Plus, with the addition of the Woo3 Extender, a second grid can be positioned above the Woo3 for increased versatility.
Why buy the Large Woo3 over the Adjustable Rig? With the Woo Rings, it’s all about "keeping it simple." Simply, set the Woo3 on the fire ring and place your grill's 18" grid on top. For an indirect set up, set a ceramic stone (round, oval, half) on the Woo3's lower ring before placing the grid. For two grids, set the Woo3 Extender on the 18" grid. The Woo3 set-ups are the premier choice if you do not cook for large numbers, do more grilling than barbequing or prefer to keep the set-up options simple.
Note: We recommend you take one quick measurement in your Large Big Green Egg® or Kamado Joe® before ordering. This is the simplest way we’ve found to make sure the Large Woo3 and Woo3 Extender fit. Measure the distance from the top of the fire ring to the felt rim on the base. The measurement should be approximately 4-1/4". If it is not, contact us and we’ll see what we can do to get you set-up. With the Kamado Joe, you need to check your grill's cooking grid too. If the hinge mechanism is only a couple inches long, you should be OK. If the hinge spans across the grid's entire quarter section, the grid won't fit the Woo3. So, you'll need to order our 18" Stainless Grid with the Woo3 pieces.
We offer two Woo3 combination packages in the Shopping Cart. The Combos are pictured below. Both Combos include the Woo3, Woo3 Extender and a Ceramic Stone. Stone choices include either the 13" Round or 13"x17" Oval Ceramic Stone. All you need to add is your grill's grid or our 18" Stainless Replacement grid. The Combos are discounted for added savings. If you are new to ceramic cooking, we recommend starting with one of the Combos, as they provide the most common set-ups to get you cooking.
