Do I use my grill's 18" grid with the Adjustable Rig?  Yes, your Big Green Egg® cooking grid fits atop the Rig and creates a raised grid set-up.  For Kamado Joe® only the cooking grid with the small hinge gate fits atop the Rig and creates a raised grid set-up.  The Kamado Joe® cooking grid with the large hinge gate (1/4 of grid) can't be used on the Adjustable Rig.

What size objects fit inside the Adjustable Rig?  Any round object (ceramic stone, pan & grid) must have a diameter less than 16-3/4".  To slide between the front brackets, the object's width must be less than 13-1/8".

What do Levels 1.5, 3.0 and 4.5 mean?  These Levels correspond to Crossbar settings on the Rig and are measured in inches from the top of the fire ring with the Rig sitting on the fire ring.  For example, when we recommend placing a grid on Rig Level 4.5, it is the same as putting a grid 4.5 inches above the fire ring.  Level 1.5 is 1.5 inches above the fire ring. Level 3.0 is 3 inches above the fire ring.

Can the Adjustable Rig be set-up to create an indirect (platesetter like) configuration?  Yes, with the addition of either a 13", 16", Oval or Half Ceramic Stone, the Adjustable Rig can be set-up to create an indirect (barbeque) set-up.  We recommend the 13" Round or 13"x17" Oval Stone as your primary barbeque stone.

Can I use Big Green Egg's® 14" pizza stone?  Big Green Egg's 14" pizza stone can be used with the Rig but not with the Large Spider.  Only our 13" Round Stone is recommended for the Spider and two grid indirect (barbeque) cooks.

Can the platesetter be used with the Adjustable Rig?  No, the Rig is not designed to be used in conjunction with the Big Green Egg® platesetter.

Where do I store the equipment?  We recommend you store the pieces in your grill on the Adjustable Rig.  Let the Spider hang in the fire ring. 

Do I need to clean the equipment?  Other than the cooking grids, there is no reason to spend time and energy cleaning the equipment.  Do not clean the ceramic stones with liquids or soap.  Dawn Power Dissolver works great on the Stainless grids.  Wrap drip pans in foil for easy clean up.

Can you put Big Green Egg's cast iron grid atop the Rig?  We do not recommend putting the cast iron grid on the Rig's top ring, as there is nothing to hold it in place.

Can the Rig sit on a grid if the grid is sitting on the fire ring?  Yes, the Rig can sit on a large 18" grid.  The Rig can sit on the large, 18" cast iron grid too.
