WooSpider Combo

If you do not own a BGE but want to expand the versatility of your grill, you might consider the WooSpider Combo.  Basically, we take the Spider and attach a Woo Ring to it.  This is the most cost effective method we’ve found to overcome the build differences in ceramic cookers.   

The Woo Ring is fabricated to your “sweet spot” height - at, below or above the base/dome opening.  You pick the height.  To overcome the differences in manufacturer cooking grids, we build the Woo Ring to fit our Stainless or BGE’s Large (18.25”) grid.  This allows expanded use with the Woo Extender and multi-grid set-ups.    

Note:   We recommend you take a couple quick measurements before ordering to make sure the WooSpider fits your cooker.   Contact us if your measurements differ significantly from those listed, as we may still be able to fabricate a Combo for you.  

1.    Measure the opening where the top of the Woo Ring will sit.   Since the Large grid is 18.25-inches in diameter, the opening needs to be approximately 18.75-inches wide.  This provides 1/2-inch of play for the grid and ample room for the Crossbars.   

2.    Measure the inside and outside diameter across the top of the fire ring.   Generally, the approximate measurements need to be: 16-inches ID and 18-inches OD.   The Woo2 sits atop the fire ring, so its base ring (17.375- inches OD) must fall in between the two measurements.
 

The “nuts and bolts” of the WooSpider design are:

• The Spider drops approximately 2-inches into the fire ring.
• The ring on the Spider is 11-inches OD. The Spider is welded to the Woo’s base ring.
• The Woo Ring is fabricated to your specific height.
• The rings on the Woo are 17.375-inches OD.
• Six vertical studs connect the Woo’s two rings and support the upper ring.
• The rings and studs are 1/4-inch, round bar, 304 stainless stock.
• The Woo’s Crossbars are removable.
• Add a second level, if possible, with the Woo Extender.
• Either our Stainless or BGE’s porcelain Large grid sits atop the Woo2.
• The material is 1/4-inch stainless round bar with Tig welds for improved strength.
